What is an Overrun? So you are looking at buying a bat and you want to get the best deal you want to get so you see overruns. The one obvious thing you tell as a buyer is the price of the bat even from a company like BestBatDeals.com
Our top of the line bats sell for $61-$76. We stand behind those bats and believe you cannot buy better bats for any price. Our other bats typically sell in bat packs and sell for $30-$40. Which are the most popular. But as with anything the higher the price the better the product.

Overruns can mean different thing depending on the size of the company.

From a craft bat manufacturer like Max or Old Hickory Overruns are bats that do not meet the final specs that the professional player wanted or simply are surplus of a quantity that were produced. They are better than most bats you will buy online and definitely better than any bat you get in a store. You cannot get these bats from Max or Old Hickory as a general member of the public, they sell blems on their website but the quality is not near the quality of the bats we offer. A Pro Players overrun is better than bats that were designed to be sold in stores because the Pro Players get the best maple at the beginning of production. Throughout the process of production it might not meet MLB Specifications, it is still better than anything you are going to get your hands on.

From a larger producer like Rawlings Overuns are going to be blems that have printing problems and can't be sold in stores, they often have major weight ratio issues and can have warping.

From a full size producer like Louisvile Slugger Overruns tend to have printing problems or mineral streaks in the maple. They are very popular because they are still great bats.
